Reviews on these are few and far between. Just curious to know if anyone has any experience with these MP5 clones from Atlantic Firearms.

ETA: Only "review" I could find: http://hkpro.com/forum/showthread.php?132086-VR5-at-Atlantic
Somebody at Atlantic seems to think they are fine if not better than other clones...

Should I run away?

Wonder if those are built with Pakistani parts ?
the HK clone market here in the US has been irrevocably damaged by Speshul Weapons Vulcan and Vector
I wouldn't buy it especailly at that price

see by the HK pro link it is some sort of bastardized straight blow back rifle

yeah screw that

According to the posts on HKpro, it isn't a Vulcan/Vector mfg though...

I have special weapons, Bobcats, Coharies, Vectors, Prusiks, and real HKs
They are 9mm, 10mm, and 45ACP
They all run like Messican federales from fucking cartel gunmen.
I have two registered sears for them.

I like my clones  But the Atlantic gun won't take a registered sear so piss on it.
So I had to dick with some springs and ejectors
That taught me a lot about them
Get one    Then get another

So, is there even any respectable clone on the market today? Or should I just give up and save my ammo budget for the next 5 years?

but every 9mm HK clone that has come down the pike has been a huge hunk of shit

you might want to but for $1300 I sure as shit not gonna roll the dice

just buy a 9mm rock river and pocket the extra $400

but as always YMMV

None with the Atlantic weapon
It has some kind of odd non HK system
Won't take a sear so I have ignored it. I shoot select fire and suppressed 90% of the time
I have about 7-8 clones and 4 HKs
Rollers,.springs and ejectors are all I have ever had to replace
Investment Grade Firearms makes the BEST clone you will ever see.

I have an SW5...auction house I bought from says its IGF...didn't run perfect  at first ($600 so I didn't freak over it) but after taking the trigger group apart a few times I got it running perfect...that was 2 years ago...added an SBR and a collapsible stock its the most fun gun I own.

That is incorrect, And Vulcan and Vector are frakkin miles apart
I usually agree with the Boondock gentlemen but not here
$1300 + $0-$260 in HK parts from RTG and you have a functional HK roller locked clone

I am probably just too cynical for my own good

been in the business for 15 years  and just seen way too many

Clones

Kinda clones but slightly different

guns built from parts kits

guns that were completely unique designs

from various small to mid sized companies , that looked great in shotgun news

but when they showed up they were rough pieces of shit , of dubious functionality, wildly varying quality/fit/workmanship, occasionally questionable legality , and cost more than a much better more conventional firearm

then I have to deal with disappointed or mad customers even after I told them in the beginning I would not order that item but they are more than welcome to buy it and we would  transfer it in if they liked

and I am not not just talking HK clones

I'm talking about all lines of "scary black guns"

If it is not from a proven company with customer support I won't touch it

The MKE clones from Turkey are 100% good to go, my sp89 clone is outstanding in every aspect. They do have an auto sear block which tends to piss of the full auto guys. I'm wondering if there is a legal way to remove the sear block for the full auto guys, it would take about ten seconds with a dremmel.

Illegal as Hell
Your BATFE bureaucrats have stated that would be the illegal manufacture of an unregistered MG
What horseshit!

The Bobcat BW5 that a buddy of mine has runs like a sewing machine. They are not making new ones so you would have to just keep your eyes open on the used market.
