I have one .40 and it is bigger than any of my .45 and is more difficult to shoot quickly or accurately. And that's the thing. There is no magic and all pistol bullets use the same laws of physics. They are all compromise cartridges. You can get a more powerful cartridge which might do a little better job of stopping the attacker but you will then have to deal with the things that come with using a heavier cartridge. Personally, I go with 9mm, but that's just the set of compromises I am good with. If someone likes .40, or .45, or 10mm, or whatever, that's fine by me. Diversity is our strength. |

| No matter the caliber of the gun or its brand this young mother was able to protect her kids from someone who should not be roaming freely. The system failed her but her firearm and skill did not. This seems to be happening more often now. I am surprised NBC ran this story. Good job Mom. May the rest of your life be peaceful. |
