So I'm one of them crazy people who carry a handgun, a knife, a flashlight and handcuffs every where I go. I don't plan on using them and I don't go looking for a reason to use them, but I like to be prepared.
So I was a the bar with a lady friend drink'en a few beers. We were getting a little playful and she kept pulling my watchcap down over my eyes. "Ok, Lets see how this one works," I think to myself. The next time she reaches up to pull my cap down, I grab her wrist and put a cuff around it. I didn't, and wouldn't put it on both hand, I was just being silly. she gave this look  and asked "why do you have handcuffs?"
I reply "in case I run into someone who won't leave my cap alone." 
There was an awkward silence that I could not break for the life of me for about 5 minutes, and now I'm ARFCOMing She wasn't for me anyways

Listen, some girl questioned me about "randomly" carrying a flashlight in my pocket. First of all, sweetheart, it wasn't random. I put it there on purpose. Second, it's very useful! Anyway, I don't think I could pull off the handcuffs without sending out a creeper vibe. |

i LOLed. but the way girls react to different situations is very revealing and if she could have just continued to laugh and have fun then great, but since she is all of a sudden offended, great because you know not to waste your time... unless your just looking for a one night thing (in which case you know she dosnt like hand cuffs ) |

I dont think having handcuffs is creepy....but outside of the home a bit unrealistic.
I own a pair, but honestly i cant think off a circumstance where I would realistically find a use for them where some other option wouldnt be better suited. I keep them just in case some strange set of circumstances presents itself, but frankly, they are more of a novelty than anything. As far as carrying them...more potential for drama than justified use. Using them on a lady at the bar? I'll defer judgement to the kind folks of GD. I'll just say "Wow" and leave it at that. |
