Just got back from seeing it.

It... is a giant steaming pile of shit.  Do not go see it.

They took a decent concept, made a good trailer, FUCKED up the whole movie with campy horseshit, and released it upon the masses to rob people of their $7.

It's going to be a massive flop.  I can assure you of that.  The mumbles from others while walking out of the theater confirmed that I'm not alone in my opinion.

As icing on the cake, there is also an anti-gun message.... regardless of the fact that guns are what happen to be saving everyone's lives.  "What do you need a gun for?" is asked... right after a guy saves everyone with his pistol.

It looked pretty lame to me.  Hot Tub Time Machine looks a lot better.

My exact words at the end "That was a straight to video B-movie wrapped in a pretty package."

Ahh that's too bad. They need more movies like this, only good ones.

Thanks for the heads up.

Thanks for the warning, I was almost duped into thinking it might be a good movie by the trailer.

I wasn't that disappointed in it. Liked the concept. The Anti-gun B.S. was heavy with it though(but what Hollywood Movie isn't). Though I got to say that they could have done much more with it.

Have you seen the movie?

*Guy saves everybody with his pistol*

"Why does a guy have a gun like that?"

Then later...

"Hey man, so what's with that gun... it obviously isn't for hunting buck."
"I have it for protection."
"Protection from what?"
"People."
"Yeah, people, huh..."

It's then implied that the only reason to have a handgun is to commit crime and kill innocent people.

The director must be a complete idiot because the contradiction was retarded.  The whole conversation about "what do you need a gun for" was had while sitting on a roof, armed with MP5's, prepared to defend the diner from hoards of angel-possessed freaks.  Trust me, it wasn't done tongue-in-cheek or with the intent of irony... it's like they were actually trying to portray an anti-gun message in a movie where guns save the day.

This is the first movie where I've considered getting up and leaving... that scene just ruined the entire movie for me....

the rest of the movie is filled with weak story and boring characters that you just hope is gonna get offed..
the only + was the two hot chicks... but not even they could save this movie...

Save yourself the money and go watch Eli (see it again if you have already seen it)

Yeah, I saw the movie.  It certainly wasn't high art, but a couple of things.

The "good guys" were the ones with guns.  Period.  No bad guys with guns.

"It's then implied that the only reason to have a handgun is to commit crime and kill innocent people."...that's certainly the implication of the character speaking the words to the Thug With a Heart of Gold, but that wasn't the narrative of the whole movie.  In fact, it's the only "anti-gun" part of the whole movie.

I would submit that if the movie was truly anti-gun, it wouldn't have ended with the scene of the trunk loaded with AR-15s and other guns.  After all, God would protect them, right?

Horrible movie, true, but you're looking too hard if you see it as an anti-gun movie.  Lord of War or Runaway Jury, or even Shoot-em-Up, now those are anti-gun movies.

The message I got was that it's ok to use guns to fight off the apocalypse, but carrying one on a daily basis is only for criminals and thugs.
