There is a clear trend to sell gun control as a public health issue due to suicides, cost for care of gunshot victims, and the psychological trauma of gun violence. This effort is just getting legs. Pediatricians, trauma care, public health MDs in particular are publishing studies and cross citing them to develop a body of literature in this area.

The MSM have begun to pick up on this and are featuring more favorable reports on the public health angle.

The left is past ready.

That's never stopped anti-gun legislation before. Seems like MOST of the egregious 2A violations are passed under utter bullshit circumstances. See Hughes and the most recent Cali "gunpokalypse" laws. First one was attached without debate or proper consideration to what was supposed to be a PRO gun law, second was a set of bills that started as environmental regulation, and then when through the legislative hurdles were COMPLETELY changed to gun control and passed.
