So I picked up an app for the PD in my hometown. They have a section asking "Have you ever been charged or cited for any criminal or motor vehicle violation?" Then it says if so please explain, list dates and locations.

My question is this: Do they want to know about every speeding/parking ticket I have gotten? If so how would I go about getting that info? I have gotten maybe 3 speeding tickets in my life but have no idea when. Thanks in advance for your help.

INCLUDE EVERYTHING.

If you don't know the exact dates... GUESS!!

If they find anything you didn't disclose, They'll start wondering what else you DIDN'T DISCLOSE!

Try to get hold of your "records" at the local Dept of MotorVehicles or Dept of Transportation.

They should have records of tickets recieved.  Like stated earlier...declare EVERYHTING.

I went back as far as 10 years...  But I have kept some type of record of my stuff...so mine was easy.

Fair enough but Im not sure I even remember how many tickets Ive had. Id hate to end up putting to many on there lol. What about tickets from other states, do they care about those? Do they even have the ability to look those up?

If you didn't live in the "out of state" that you got a ticket in you're probably good.

But why chance it?  If it's a minor violation, they won't worry about it.

My NYPD investigation covered everything up to the day of the investigation.  I was 35 and a hellalotta writing to do.

Try you insurance company.  They could bring up your driving history.  If you have any LE friends, they can bring up your entire past.

I would probably list everything on the application, or as other posters have stated, your agency will likely not be happy if they do find something...   As far as obtaining records, I know that here in Georgia you can request a drivers history report from the DMVS, you can probably do something similar.
