Definitely not claustrophobic. Not so sure it is a dry sub - think he has a skirt still on inside. Very possible it is simply heavy enough that it will flood and the air in the bubble is enough to balance it and keep it righted.

I'd be a bit worried about that propulsion system. Seems waaay to easy to get it caught on something, and there's no secondary means of steering or propulsion in that event. Your only choice would be to surface...but if it's caught on kelp or a net, that could get real interesting really fast.
