| The new Tiger? He's about to win the U.S. Open after the Masters. Grand slam? |

Quoted:
There will never be another Tiger. Spieth is good, but the rest of the field is way. More competitive than when Tiger came up. Tiger never lived up to the hype and never changed golf. He did not pave the way for minorities into the sport and actually hurt the game. Golf is a dying crappy hobby. |

He will never be ranked as one of the greats. He has no legacy. His impact on the sport is very minimal and he never changed the game to any degree. Golf will die in this century as an elitest idiots hobby. |

I don't think that he'll ever catch Jack's 18 (IIRC) majors, but to dismiss him out of hand is shortchanging his game, IMO. Not that he had the competition that Jack did in his heyday, but the guy was a great golfer for a stretch. Chris |

It will be interesting to follow Jordan Spieth. His home life is a lot more stable than Tiger's was and he credits his little sister, who has Down's Syndrome, with being the glue that holds the family together. He has a very different outlook on life that Tiger did at age 21. I think that the real loser today was Jason Day. As good as he golfed suffering from vertigo the past two days he may be the next superstar it he ever gets it under control. |

There were not million dollar purses before Tiger. |
