Blew the dust off some cd's today...forgot how much I like 'em...anyone else dig 'em?
I've been known to turn the car stereo up a tad when I hear a JA song!
I got an Ipod not too long ago and loaded all of my old cd's on it. I keep it on Random and damn if I don't turn it up every time a Jane's Addiction song comes on.
The live version of Jane Says with the xyzlophone (spelling???) - or is it steel drums? intro rocks! |
JA's version of "Sympathy for the Devil" is one of my personal favorites.
roger that!! The way "Rock & Roll" leads into it is epic... |
with out game men pray on each other.......
sex is violent!! janes additions rocked. |
Oh Hell Yea!!!!
That's some good memories right there....Nothing Shocking Jane Says.......good stuff.. |
they're newest Cd is pretty damn good too. I still rock out to Janes Addiction on a frequent basis.

MAN CARD, NOW, HAND IT OVER |
Perry Ferrel wears lipstick and thats not worthy of man card revocation? |
Janes Addiction rocks, but I must admit I prefer GnR's version of "Sympathy for the Devil" more. |
bzzzzttt...wrong.....it is Lynyrd Skynyrd |
Hmmm....I was thinking Journey. Of course make it singular "Big wheel keep on turning..." and you've got Ike and Tina Turner. |
don't they use "jane says" on those jack daniels commercials? or am i thinking of something else?
The big question is...
How many here opened up thier (stolen) music file and queued up Been Caught Stealing? I did ETA "I'm not an addict" cause I'm coming down the moutain and trippen away |
Name the song and record oh great one. |
That's Lynyrd Skynyrd. The song is sweet home alabama. |
I guess it is both, or all three. |
Creedence Clearwater Revival used that line first in their version of Proud Mary. Go to the back of the class. |
Someone outta make you slap yourself in the face.

1/2 Janes Addiction (Perry Ferrel & Stephen Perkins) + Peter DiStefano + Martyn Le Noble = Porno for Pyros Ocean Size and Jane Says are two of my favorite cuts off Nothing's Shocking. www.janesaddiction.com/ |

Jane says
I've never been in love - no She don't know what it is She only knows if someone wants her I only want 'em if they want me,... I only know they want me... Jane says... Jane says... |
Nothing's Shocking is a great album. Saw them twice, headlining, not Lollapalooza.
+1 groundbreaking artists anyone see nthe video of Perry Ferrel pulling an eel from their hotel room aquariam and then beating the shit out of it on the bed? he's one fucked up heroin addict, but he can write a song... (as good or better than Layne Staley and that's hard for me to admit) (then again, it's kind of difficult to name a great song writer that isn't addicted to something) |
I'm just gonna pretend that my eyes didnt see that |
Yes they do. |
I know...it wasn't easy for me to type...fingers kept wanting to seize up. I'm gonna have to listen to "Facelift" and "Kettlewhistle" back to back and make double sure. |
no doubt about it...one of their finest albums sickman, down in a hole, rooster, junkhead...shit, don't get me started Facelift and "Man in a Box" was almost singlehandedly responsible for my appreciation of fine music. Hence, the reason I chose it to listen to next to J.A.'s "Kettlewhistle" |

COMING DOWN THE MOUNTAIN!
One of the greatest of all time if ya ask me. There is a very rare movie made by Perry Farrell and his then wife. It is bizarre as hell but worth a watch if you are a Jane's fan. I can't recall the name of it offhand. |
Definately one of those songs that you just can't play loud enough... |

Jane's Addiction is a great band. I think they hold the record for fastest sold out show at the old Montezuma Hall at SDSU. All the tickets sold out in like 8 minutes.
I saw JA live at the first Lolapalooza and saw PFP at the Velodrome at CSU Dominguez Hills. The biggest pits I've ever seen. It was so packed that groups of 100 people would end up falling over like dominos. I always liked their live shows because there was always a lot of eye candy and crazy things going on on the stage. Like lesbians making out in a cage or a chick with her tatas on fire. Just crazy performance art stuff. I haven't really caught much of their "new" stuff though. Perry and Dave are freaks but Stephen Perkins is an incredible drummer. I've got a couple bootleg albums that are much more rocking than their studio stuff. Definitely one of those bands that is much better live than on album. Trivia time - I've heard that back in the day when they were both getting started Janes Addiction and Guns and Roses were on the same bill at some clubs in LA. What shows those must have been! |
