Is this a liberal statement?

"Fear of the unknown.

They are afraid of new ideas.

They are loaded with prejudices, not based upon anything in reality, but based on… if something is new, I reject it immediately because it’s frightening to me. What they do instead is just stay with the familiar.

You know, to me, the most beautiful things in all the universe, are the most mysterious."

Depends on the context in which it is said.

It's an Einstein quote.  I heard it in the animated short that came with the Toy Story 3 DVD.

marxism/communism was not new when that was said.  was he reffering to new technology and the atomic bomb?

The statement itself isn't, it could be applied to both liberals and conservatives.

You will however, hear statements like this used often by liberals to characterize conservatives.

certainly not a liberal statement.  Conservatives don't fear new things or the unknown.  We know exactly what socialism is and what it does.  the only thing new in this world was freedom and we embrace it even though there are a lot of unknowns when you are free.
