I'm beginning to wonder if I'm fated not to buy another pistol. It seems that every time I've tried, "fate" has intervened. I don't buy pistols on a whim, so I allocate funds months beforehand (before my 401k and other budgeted expenses). 1. After leaving AD in 1992, I was on my way to the dealer from my MBA-prep courses (calculus and stats) when some bitch pulled out and tore the front off of my new Toyota. I wanted a new Glock 17 but I was stuck with the deductible ($500) and nobody ever saw the bitch again. She gave the Po-Po some fake/void insurance paperwork so I couldn't even recover that. 2. Three years ago, I was in my local guns store holding a beautiful Springfield stainless "loaded" 1911 when I looked out the window and saw baseball-sized hail pound the fuck out of my car. I pointed to the dents, handed the pistol back to the dealer and contacted my insurance company about the repair and $500 deductible. 3. Yesterday morning, I was planning to visit a dealer about a new Glock when my wife informed me that the dishwasher went tits up. There went the $500. Is God trying to intervene, is it fate, or am I just SOL? |

I don't know how you did it but you somehow managed to offend three of the most powerful Gods: those of traffic, weather, and dishwashing. If I were you, I'd start offering sacrifices to the firearms God pronto! Wouldn't hurt to throw in a little something for the heart attack God too, just as a precaution. |
I've got two SIGs (P226 and P229), but I don't have a Glock 9mm, which I consider standard now that I think of it. |
That's what I was thinking. If he'd bought the pre-paid funeral they sell on TV, he wouldn't be out the $500. Should have taken out a policy on her, too. |
