Well, from my 15-second Wikipedia research, no, it isn't. There are differences between brands of ammunition.

Yes and if this Country ever goes to hell in a handbasket, it'll be worth more then any other commodity you can own.

Unless you bought at the height of the ammo price stupidity, it is one commodity that has held it's value very well over the years and I don't see that changing any time soon.
