Hello fellow black rifle fans, I just wanted to introduce myself. I am from Tennessee, and I think this is the best AR website on the net. I currently have four RRAs, three Colts, three S&W m&p15s,about a dozen custom builds that I did using various components. I am also a Gunsmith as well as a long range record holder. Also I work for a large magazine company in which I test various uppers, triggers, scopes and so on. I am currently in the middle of testing some triggers from various companies such as ,Jard, Armalite, Geseille, Timney, Chip Mc., Jewell. I have also been handloading and did a write up for the magazine last month, called intro to handloading. If anyone is interested in reading it, or for some of the most accurate handloads I have found for the AR15 just let me know.

Interesting, welcome aboard.

Note that you're in the circus tent portion of the site,  the technical forums are more civilized.

That being said....

damn, let me know if you ever need someone to take one them black rifles off your hands.

Welcome to THE black rifle site, btw what other ones are there

I'ld love to see your loads for the AR-15.  I just bought the supplies to make 10,000 rounds of 223 ammo.  Here's what I've got:

  • 40 pounds of Hodgdon H335 (at 25.5 grains per load)

  • 10,000 M193 projectiles 55grn, boattail, crimp ring, high quality bullets

  • 10,000 CCI400 primers

  • 2,000 brand new Winchester 223 brass (will be reusing 4 times)

  • Dillon RL550 press with Dillon Carbide die's

Here's the load I'm going to be making with the above (in a new Bushy 16" ORC with 1/9 twist):

  • Case/Length:    Winchester/1.750 (resized as such for each reuse)

  • Bullet/Type:      55grain/FMJ boattail will be crimped

  • Load:               25.5 to 26.1 grains (will see what is best)

  • OAL:                2.215" to 2.225" (will see what is best)

  • Velocity:           3,015 fps to 3,040 fps (depending on OAL and load grains)

I already have the above supplies in hand, so I couldn't change the ingredients at this point.  But I would appreciate your input on the load and OAL.  Any tips to help me make some great ammo.
