As long as there's black gold in the western provinces, you'll not see Quebec bail out.
Link Posted: 2/15/2012 1:23:55 PM EDT
No. Despite years of trying the indepence political party - Parti Québécois - has not convinced a majority there to break from Canada. That being said, there is a good portion of the rest of Canada that would be happy to toss them out and get rid of all the bilingual signs, documents, ads, etc. You'll also never sell it to the Indians and Eskimos, oops excuse me, First Nations and Inuits in the northern part of Quebec. They identify themselves more as Canadian than as a Québécois eh.

Now waiting for someone to imbed the French Canada is the Best Canada tune from South Park.

Sure, and take the rest of teh eastern leech provinces with them. Quebec couldn't survive on it's own.

OTOH, Alberta succesion is A OK by me

Most arfcommers are usually deep in the Oui territory thinking that Quebec would become some sort of Rhodesia of the North.

They usually sulk away without saying much once they realize that Parti Quebec and the entire independence movement is a bunch of red-commie deep socialist fucktards. I mean more socialist than Sweeden or Finland.

With Irony, the only reason that they are not already independent is because of the throngs of various asian, cuban, and aboriginal minorities that would lose the Canadian Federal gravy train should a Franco-centric government take over all control.

The Maritimes would probably be very productive if the Canadian federal government had invested in them rather than limit their existing industries.

They got sacrificed for Quebec in regards to funding. Squeeky wheel gets the grease

I want my Canada to stay as is. Or expand by absorbing various scandinavian territories.

I don't think even Ottawa knows if it wants to be French or English. I had to call a florist in Gatineau, QC the other day.

Francophones have a low birthrate, and the Canadian .gov loves importing anyone from anywhere.

Come to think of it, Canada's lax immigration standards might have something to do with essentially finally defeating the Francophones.

That is exactly what the PC premier drunkenly stated after losing the last referendum by like 6 votes.

Then he had to step down for hurting some folks feelings.

Even the Francophones have to speak English out here. That is, if they want a job.
They can even keep the Habs and the Alouettes, they suck just as bad as that shithole of a province does. No wonder people are leaving there in droves.

The funny part is that the Air Canada Montreal base was rather senior, and the guys preferred it to Toronto.

Say what you want about Montreal, but the city isn't a soulless zombie of a town like Toronto. Toronto is like Houston, except with shittier weather.

It's funny, cause I wound up calling the florist in Ottawa to send the order. She said "Of course the florist in Gatineau wouldn't take the order, they're on the wrong side."

It can be fun. I love exciting nights on the town where I can play ''dodge the collapsing overpasses'' between visits to various full contact strip clubs

Whenever people talk about going to strip clubs in Vegas, I politely let them know that Montreal and Vancouver are about 300% better. Just plain fact. Hell, I went to a friendly dive of a club in London ON and was impressed.

As much as you love wealth, you like to redistribute it more. Come on in! The water is nice! The First and Second amendments are really, really nice. I'd love a few more stars on our flag from our friends from the Great White North.

Maybe Canada can adopt California there would be plenty of Americans that would be happy to see them go. I mean as far as their social systems they are almost their anyway. We can then make Puerta Rico the 50th state in place of California.
