ok so i got the newest version of IE (i think 7 or 8) and i like it so far..  one problem im having is if im on arfcom, and hit Quote to reply to a thread, in the text box, i will scroll down to underneath the /quote to enter my text and the text box jumps up and down in sequence with my key presses..   in another words..  when i type a letter the text box will scroll up or "jump" up and down really fast...  wouldnt be a big deal except it will stay too high and i cant see what im typing..  ive tried different combonations of actions .. like scrolling all the way up or down..  retry to quote..close the window and reopen.. nothing works..

is there a patch or is this a common problem?

only happens on arfcom and only with replying with quote function (when it makes the text box too full and shows the scroll bar on the right)

any help would be great

I found your problem. You have the above mentioned malware installed on your computer. Thankfully there is a quick fix and you'll be good to go:

Download and install Mozilla FireFox 3.5

Problem solved.

Click the Compatibility button in IE8 just to the right of the URL
combo box and just to the left of the refresh and stop buttons. That
should add ar15.com to the list of pages in compatibility settings
(under the Tools menu option), and make textboxes on this site work
correctly.

For Windows 3.0.10 is the current version of Firefox

I have the new IE8 and have a different problem.  Says it's running in "Compatibility Mode"

Sometimes when you click on a thread, it will open, and then IE will intercept the post and

block it.  Pisses me off!!!  Think i'm going back to the old IE or another browser.

now that you are on FF, you should get the add-on called No script https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/722

this prevents all scripting, unless you allow it.  Scripts are how most viruses are propagated today, blocking them is good.

my suggestion   open control panel >   open internet options >  click the advanced tab  click restore advanced settings  then click  RESET in the bottom right corner.  then apply  then restart the computer.

And linkification comes in handy on arfcomm, and all the fire mission polls where they leave the link cold.

Yep, my desktop has the new IE and it does the same exact thing if something (quotes or I'm typing a really long post) has taken up enough space for the scroll bar to come into effect. My laptop is running FF with no problems to report.
