I am looking at rubber bottomed/Pac style boots for hunting.. Im looking at something comfortable walking to to deer stand then sitting for 3 to 4 hours, but also offer good traction and support.. I want something with a removable liner
Narrowed down my list to the following 10" - Any thoughts, suggestions, comments on the plus/minus of them are encouraged.. Schnees Hunter II link Kenetrek Grizzly link Hoffman Guide link I dont like the sole on the LL Bean Maine Hunting Shoe with the removable liner so it was not included.. I have a non-insulated pair of the Maine Hunting boots that have held up well over the past 30 yrs - but i want something warmer A google search turned up very favorable reviews off all three, but the Scheees and Kenetreks seem to be the favorites.. | My hunting pacs are Schnees and my steel toe work pacs are Hoffmans. Both are excellent well made boots. The sole on the Schnees wore out after three seasons hunting elk and they are off now being re-soled. The Hoffmans are a little bit heavier duty and have seen 4 winters working in Alaska and show no signs of falling apart yet. My Hoffmans are a little bit heavier than the pair you posted. They are the felt lined ones. The Schnees are more comfortable for me when hiking is involved. |

I have never been a fan of those types of boots. a set of 800-1000gr neoprene upper rubber hunting boots would be much better. I love my Mucks. but Lacrosse and numerous other companies make excellent boots. todays ankle fit and sole styles are excellent. +1 I've tried on a lot of boots. My next pair will be Mucks. My current boots are a pair of Danner Pronghorns, they are excellent but when the fields are super mucky I feel almost guilty stomping around in them. |
