Any thoughts?
Now that's it's smaller, it only takes up 2 parking spaces instead of 3. How exciting.
I don't know how they handle, but I saw one on the road the other day and I liked the looks of it.
I'm I the only one who thinks of a certain sex act when I see a post about a Hummer?

Nice ride. Not quite enough get up and go but it'll do well offroading.
My one complaint is the windows. Goddamn the windows are SMALL. No visibility. Otherwise, I no complaints. Oh, and make sure the people you get opinions from have actually DRIVEN one. Otherwise you'll get 900 "Its sucks! It blows! Its gay!" responses from people who probably havent even SEEN one, let alone driven it. |
Colorado chassis. |
The sales guy said the H3 is better offroad then the H2. This is suprising from a slaes guy cause the H2 is about 1/3 again as much as an H3.
Said the H3 is a bit smaller and more manuverable. |
AFAIC, the only real Hummer is the H1. The other two are just price inflated, usefulness comprimised Chevies. I don't need to ride in one to know that it's purely an exercise in selling a "look".
Don't need to drive it.
It's big, ugly, and unneccesary. He asked for thoughts and got one. |
Depends on the driver's abilities.. women on cell phones will still take up 3. |
+1. overall more capable than the H2 also. |

Saw one, sat in it, didn't test-drive it (I was at the dealership waiting on a state inspection and decided to wander around the showroom).
Not terribly impressed by the looks, but it does look better than the H2. Inside seemed ok, can't make any comments about the ride though. Tiny windows. Rather crappy visibility even sitting in the showroom. Personally I wouldn't buy one. But I don't particularly have anything against them either. |
It sucks. Horrible visibility out of the tiny windows and underpowered with a 220hp I5 trying to move a 4500lb vehicle.
Buy a used Cherokee if you want that sort of vehicle. |
If you want fast buy a Mustang GT. |
+1 My thoughts exactly....if I won the lottery, I'd get the H1. I'd never own the H2 or H3 unless I won it or it was a gift. HH |
The H2 and H3 will easily get stuck. They used a Jeep Grand Cherokee to tow out a H2 stuck in sand.
For off-roading, go with a Jeep Wrangler Rubicon or Jeep Grand Cherokee with modifications to get it to Rubicon level 5 or 6 or whatever. The military HMMWVs aren't as good off-roading as most of the civilian modified off-roading vehicles. The new Hummer H1 Alpha has a 6.6L Duramax V8 diesel making 300 hp and 520 ft-lb of torque with a 5-speed auto Allison transmission. |
The H3 isn't even adequate. The Cherokee is no muscle car, but it still has enough power to pull out into traffic well. |

It's not about having a drag racing H3. The I5 they use in the Colorados or Trailblazers (i forget) is NOT enough to move that pile of junk. I don't care what anyone says, you need a decent amount of power and acceleration to be effective at driving with all the idiots on the road.
IMO, I thing the H3 looks a lot better than the H2. That's about as far as I can go with it. I still think they're fugly. |
My ex is buying one and wanted my opinion so took me to go look at it. The interior was surprisingly small and cramped.

Both the H2 and H3 look like mall ninja kit cars. Do they come with airsoft?
Yes, get an H1 but hey, the only *good* thing about the H3 is that it is offered with a stick shift, which seems better for off roading.
Colorado's use the I5. The I6 is used in the TB's. |
Yep its not only the Colorado I5 but the frame as well so not any better off road than the Colorado and a hell of a premium for styling.

Can you add a BOTD to the title. I was not ready for that. |

I have seen a couple of H3s in action off road and they seem to do all right. They have a decently short wheel base, and ground clearence, both of which are important off road, they also have an electric locker in the rear, which is better than a LOT of other Ford or GMC products. They crawl ratio is decent about 60 I think which is a lot better than any other stock vehicle on the market less the Jeep Rubicon.
For the price its not a bad vehicle, for what it was designed to do its a great vehicle, and it would be a good platform to start building an excellent off roader. If somebody wants a mall queen, a minivan is cheaper and has as much or more room, if you want to get off the beaten path and your family is smaller then the H3 might be for you. While I give props to the H1 with its planetary gears and 37sh inch big tires, not many people are going to throw down 100K for a daily driver. Its also LOT wider than you would want to drive off orad on trails like the Rubicon or Moab rim trails. Even out at Fort Hood where I did a little off roading, I followed a Humvee back into the brush, and the guy basically plowed a path for my Tacoma. Yeah you could do it, but a smaller vehicle would do it easier, saving a whole bunch of paint in the process. Space?????? The drive line, diffs sit tucked up in the cab. IMO the H2 is the mall runner of the bunch, from what I have seen they don't have the running gear under them for reliable stock off roading, the tie rods and the frame/ steering box don't seem to stand up to regular routine stock off roading. |

Yes I did!

Man, I clicked on this link thinking it was the third part of a new BLOWJOB PORN.
Amen to that. (I have an H1 in my garage, but it's my sister's. She lets me drive it weekly to exercise it. ) |
Its cheaper so I will have to see even more of those ulgy things on the road
A wannabe of a wannabe?
I'm waiting for the H12, it will fit in my coat pocket. |
I like the looks of the H3T. Id buy one just to piss off all you guyz And id get one of those calvin stickers pissing on a bowtie
I think they are fugly but can you really blame GM?
Hello Profit Margin! |
If you want to look "cool" thats one thing.
I've seen them "pimped" out w/ stereo's and whatnot. Chances are you'll never see a new H2 or H3 covered in mud...or with scratches from brush on the sides... You can usually tell who does serious offroading, and who just drives over grass. lol. But w/e, your money not mine. |
If I decide to pick one up next year when I dump the Rainier, I'll be sure to post pics of it muddy, scratched and with a deer strapped to the hood. |

I wouldn't buy an Exploder if it was the last SUV on earth. |
