Anyone see this movie? It's one of Bruce Willis' older movies. I've always liked it, but watching it tonight I've really come to appreciate what a good flick it is. It's funny, it's strange, it's very well done.

"I'll kill your friends, your family, and the bitch you took to the prom!"
"Betty Jo Bialowski? I can get you an address on that, if you want."

"I'll torture you so slowly, you'll think it's a career."

"I've always had a soft spot in my heart for Rome. I did my first bare-handed strangulation here. Communist politician."
"Why George, you old softie."
"God, I miss Communism. The Red threat... people were scared... the agency had some respect and I got laid every night. "

"Get this fucking thing off my head!"
"Hey Tommy, look at Snickers. He's about to have a bad migraine."
"Maybe it was a dud."
*BOOM*

I believe this movie could have been as successful as The Princess Bride if they would have left out the swearing.  There was no other reason to make this rated R.  They would have made gobs of money from the 13-17 crowd.  Awesome movie just the same.  One of my all time favorites.

+1.  I keep thinking that about a bunch of movies.  I'd love to watch some of the classics with my daughter, but there's too much swearing.

I like it.

I do find it funny however that so many people and film critics bash it all the time. I bet most of them really like it but they just follow one persons view and take it as gospel.

It was one of the only movies made of 90% one-liners that actually made sense AND was funny.

I live in the town Bruce Willis grew up in, Penns Grove, NJ. This line is funny because he was in a relationship with this chick in his high school years and her name is Betty Jo Buyarski.

I'm pretty sure that whatever Bruce's prom date's name, the Betty Jo Bialowski reference is to Firesign Theatre. From his personality, I'm willing to bet he is or was a fan.

One of those quirky movies that you'd love to hate, but it's just too cool with way too many triple-entendres.

Andie McDowell isn't too hard on the eyes, either.

And the Willis-Aiello cover of "Swinging on a Star" is one of the best every.

I use Hudson Hawk, The 'Burbs and Nothing But Trouble to judge a person's sense of humor.

If they don't like at least one of those they probably think Larry the Cable Guy is the best thing ever.

Could never understand that either.

Then again, I think that if a good editor had clipped out 20 minutes or so, "Ishtar" would have been a comedy classic.
