The guy responding is 95% full of shit! Very simply put you need to get your FFL first. Then you can get your FEIN number and SOT application. You send the BATF NFA branch a check for $500 for your tax stamp. Once the check has been cashed you are now a SOT machine gun dealer. As a SOT you are bound by the same record keeping rules as a regular FFL. However you need to apply to the NFA branch to transfer a MG to another dealer or indivudual. As a SOT you do not have to notify the NFA when you travel with your MG's. Only privatly owned MG's have to have approval prior, you need to tell the origin and destination. |
