The earth has a finite amount of days that it will sustain human life. The sun will "burn out" or natural resources will be depeleted beyond recovery due to unchecked population explosions, or exploitation, etc. What ever the reason it will happen someday and there isn't anything that can stop it. So how will it happen in y'alls opinion? Eventually the strongest or smartest will survive untill there is nothing left. Any ideas what it will be like? Will evolution keep pace with the changes untill "mankind" is something that we today would not recognize? Will we sink back into the mire from whence we came? I know the fire and brimstone crowd will say that Beelzebub will rule whats left after the rapture, blah, blah, blah, but if that doesn't happen then what? 2 1/2 hours of driving to work and back makes you think of some strange stuff. |
|
God will do it... simplistic answer, I know, but thats what I believe. Thats what He said he was going to do. I'd believe Him. eta: Actually according to Revelation, the anti christ will only rule it for about 7 years... After that Jesus will rule on earth literally in the flesh for 1000 years. Then God will destroy it after all the people born during His millenial reign who don't accept him rise up against him. It won't be a long battle, trust me. |
| The Earth will, eventually, become uninhabitable, left to its own resources. I have a firm conviction that before that happens, humans will figure out a way to engineer the climate to "fix" it. To terraform Earth, if you will. I also think that humans will colonize other planets and build colonies in space long before then. Humanity probably won't die out as much as it will change itself into something that won't be identifiable by a 21st century man as "human." |
|
When? 1. You will die. So, this world ends for you. 2. The earth will perish/not be habitable. I'm going with asteroid/comet. 3. Since we know nothing about "dark matter," therefiore, I think cosmic predictions are a bit premature. The question should be what will you do with the time aloted to you. |
We will probably run out of resources within 100 years to sustain the growing population. There will be huge shortages of food. The city folk will die off first since they know nothing about survival, money will be worthless, only thing of value will be guns and ammo.
|
In other words, there are atleast 1007 years left...so I wouldn't worry about it. |
|
well how will it end? God will get rid of the wicked system of things and only the good will remain. He never finished what He started in the garden, because of adams rebellion. because nowhere in the bible does it say we are on the eighth day. creative day that is. He is not a liar, He said in more that one place. "the world passeth away but the earth will remain forever." He didnt put us here to die, to get sick, to fight, etc. He put us here to live. right now as i type this, He is sorting the sheep from the goats. I am unfortunatly a goat. If He were to get rid of this system now, He would get rid of me too. how will it end you say? noone knows exactly, Jesus didnt even know, Jesus give signs as to what would be taking place up until that day. They are all here, except for the end. because it is also written "they will teach the good news until the end, and the end precedes destruction". But it will be some kind of peace that this system will declare, as is also written "they will declare peace and destruction will instantly be on them". who knows maybe this global war on terror is a stepping stone for them to declare peace? it would make sense. because at no time in human history has there been a more dangerous time. Because of mans wickedness and stupidity. the earth itself stands on being ruined. as is also written "I will bring to ruin those ruining the earth". disease is unreal now, we got diseases now that are worse than anyother in history, you could be walking dead and not know it now. War is everywhere, etc. Its all global now just like He said it would be. I do know this, its here, and if anything we are on borrowed time because He said "those will by no means pass away till all these things occur" He was talking about what happened in 1914, the generation that was old enough to understand what was going on. that generation is very old now, not many left. I forget the the day for a year terminology that leads to the year 1914, but it doesnt take a scholar to see what happened in 1914. Its here guys, I got to drop my cigerattes and lose my fear of being baptized in, as is also written "an accurate knowledge of the truth". Those are the only ones that will be saved from whats coming. Only an accurate knowledge. not some traditional, backwards, gold ridden, etc, claim to be's. because Jesus said "sincerety alone is not enough". you can be part of some religion, and be real sincere about it, but that dont mean its the right one. He said "you will know them by their love for one another". and "they will keep my commandments". not ever compromising, not even for fear of their own life, because they live by the perfect example, Jesus. and do just as Jesus commanded. and what did He do? |
No. There are many, many other sources of energy we could use...IF they were cost-effective. If we run out of easily available and cheap petroleum fuels, we WILL exploit them and keep on growing. |
|
Well, in about another 5 billion years or so, the sun will run out of hydrogen to fuel it and will go to helium. At that point, the sun will become a red dwarf. Only problem is that the sun will grow to a size greater in size than that of the earth's orbit.. Yep, we get swallowed up. Don't you guys watch Nova? You know, Carl Sagen & company? |
Can you prove any of what you posted? |
|
It has been said that the Sun, running out of fuel will expand before it dies, when that happens the Earth will be consumed. Earth will become an arid baked wasteland long before that happens, as a result of the suns increased output. Recent scientific papers suggest this could happen as soon as 250,000 years from now. If humanity still exist at that point in time, we will either be advanced enough to escape the earths fate or we will be so backwards and ignorant we wont even undestand the world is ending. |
|
There will be no end as such, no final blaze of glory, no big crunch. In the end, everything will be cold and black - unimaginably cold, indescribably dark. There will be no stars in the utter blackness that is the sky. That there is no one around to notice this emptiness, nor has anyone been around eons, only serves to clarify my point. |

RE: How the world ends. Pleae refer to Stephen King's The Stand. Not for the story, but for the quote on the page before the tale begins. It is the end of a poem written by T. S. Elliot entitled The Hollow Men. The Hollow Men T. S. Eliot (1925) I We are the hollow men We are the stuffed men Leaning together Headpiece filled with straw. Alas! Our dried voices, when We whisper together Are quiet and meaningless As wind in dry grass Or rats' feet over broken glass In our dry cellar Shape without form, shade without colour, Paralysed force, gesture without motion; Those who have crossed With direct eyes, to death's other Kingdom Remember us -- if at all -- not as lost Violent souls, but only As the hollow men The stuffed men. II Eyes I dare not meet in dreams In death's dream kingdom These do not appear: There, the eyes are Sunlight on a broken column There, is a tree swinging And voices are In the wind's singing More distant and more solemn Than a fading star. Let me be no nearer In death's dream kingdom Let me also wear Such deliberate disguises Rat's coat, crowskin, crossed staves In a field Behaving as the wind behaves No nearer -- Not that final meeting In the twilight kingdom III This is the dead land This is cactus land Here the stone images Are raised, here they receive The supplication of a dead man's hand Under the twinkle of a fading star. Is it like this In death's other kingdom Waking alone At the hour when we are Trembling with tenderness Lips that would kiss Form prayers to broken stone. IV The eyes are not here There are no eyes here In this valley of dying stars In this hollow valley This broken jaw of our lost kingdoms In this last of meeting places We grope together And avoid speech Gathered on this beach of the tumid river Sightless, unless The eyes reappear As the perpetual star Multifoliate rose Of death's twilight kingdom The hope only Of empty men. V Here we go round the prickly pear Prickly pear prickly pear Here we go round the prickly pear At five o'clock in the morning. Between the idea And the reality Between the motion And the act Falls the Shadow For Thine is the Kingdom Between the conception And the creation Between the emotion And the response Falls the Shadow Life is very long Between the desire And the spasm Between the potency And the existence Between the essence And the descent Falls the Shadow For Thine is the Kingdom For Thine is Life is For Thine is the This is the way the world ends This is the way the world ends This is the way the world ends Not with a bang but a whimper. |

I see no logical reason why science could not totally halt aging. Cells function according to physical rules, there is no reason why we could not master those rules and exploit them. This would lead to disaster though, it further colonization of space were not achieved. So, the end of the earth would simply be nostalgic. Who knows, cool stuff. |
It's in the Bible. Whether you choose to believe it or not is a different question. I do believe that we are in the end times as we speak and there will be many people who will wish they had taken Jesus as their lord and savior. |
By posting that Borg Ship do you mean in the future we'll all be robotic liberals? But luckily for Us, we'll be robotic liberals with phasers attached to our arms?? Wow that's deep man! BTW- Earth's sun will not go supernova for billions of years. And earth is not "exhausting" it's resources. Nothing that exsists on the earth "goes away" into outer space, its gets recycled. All Energy comes from the sun, so as long as the sun burns we will have 'energy' in the earths system. The earth human population might collapse due to an imbalance but most other life will be fine. OF course if you belive in 2000 year old Jewish farie tales all of what I just wrote is a lie............................
|
When the sun red giants it will come close enough to Earth to burn off the oceans and atmosphere and every trace that we ever even existed. It will then white dwarf and the Earth and our solar system will be dead. |
Everything correct except being engulfed. |
Actually Not .... The sun will become a Red Giant , then once the helium is converted to carbon it will collapse to a white dwarf . No one is sure of the expansion factor which could be from 10x to 100x Either way , were toast |
Either Michael Moore or Rosie OD will have eaten an extra large supper with a large portion of beans. They will then take a little stroll out of doors. Sooner or later they will have to let Nature take its course and they will have to break wind.![]() At about the time they let go somebody with a lighted cigarette, or somebody about to light up will come on the scene. Before the gaseous emissions have had a chance to dissipate, the embers or flame will cause the gas to ignite. The flames will backtrack to its source. Then either Rosie or Michael will then explode in a multi-gigaton explosion. The explosion will send the Earth into the Sun. That’s how Things Will End. |
Missed that. |
It may not take a scholar but it certainly takes more than what I've got, because I still can't figure out what you're talking about. |
