I sent an order form to the CMP last Tuesday the 31st for a SA M1 Service Grade rifle. I was just wondering if they will notify me of their reciept or any updates? I've been contacted already a few weeks ago about the huge ammo backorder. I'm still waiting on a January order. I know they have to run through NICS first before they ever begin to process any order but I'm starting to wonder now if my mail even made it to them.

Do any of yall remember if the CMP contacted you during your order for a rifle?

Good luck actually getting something from those jerks.  They're a bunch of slow assholes.  My nephew sent in all of the paperwork to meet the requirements in 2002, and he is still waiting on an M1.  I sent in all of the paperwork including my DD-214 and Garand Collectors Association membership over a year ago.  Of course I don't have an M1 yet either.  You have to remember that they're government employees so they don't give a damn, and there is no accountability.  They simply don't care and don't try.z

They will keep you up to date. I think the thing to keep in mind is that they get 100's of orders a day, if not thousands. You will get an email when they receive your order, then another when it is processing....which could be months later, and then finally an order when shipped email. I have waited 3 months for some items from them. And although it is a pain, they are still the best deal around. Go to the CMP forum and you can get a better idea of when stuff will ship.

Are you serious? Every time that I have ordered from the CMP it went VERY quickly.

I have to agree. That is simply BS that something ordered in 2002 hasn't been filled. I have gotten about a dozen Garands since that time of all types and never had to wait more than a few months.

Government employees?  You sound like a baby who didn't fill out the paperwork correctly.  OP, check out the CMP forums for wait times.  Last year, I sent off paperwork for 5 M1 garands and 4 Carbines and got them all in my hands,
