If you were stranded on a deserted island with only what you have on you right now:

1. What would you have with you?

2. What would be your survival strategy?

3. How long do you think you would you survive?

I'll start.

1. I'd have a wallet with some plastic cards, a few dollar bills, G-Shock, a Benchmade Osbone, S&W 442-1 with 15 total rounds of .38 special and a phone, a Bic lighter, and my keys (5 keys and a LaRue Dillo).

2. Find shelter, water, then food. Make 2 fires, one small one for cooking and warmth, one large one for smoke signal. Fashion a bow out of a good stick and some rope made from clothes strands. Use my keys as arrow heads. Hope to god I didn't get cut and die from infection.

3. I feel like I could survive for a few years. I've got enough body fat to live off of for a few months.

Weird poll.  If you can make it a few months, you can probably make it a few years.

ETA: My island has no trees, no fresh water and is located in 1000 miles from the coast of Antarctica.  I'm dead in <8.7 hours.

I'd have coconut creme pies and Mary Ann pie.

If Mrs. Howell is along - almost forever.

1.  Satellite radio
2.  Call someone for help
3.  If that fails, I would last probably six or seven minutes

Not enough information.

Where is the island?

What are the resources on the island?

What are the weather conditions?

To just say you can survive for x years on any island is some conceited dumb shit. A lot of them are deserted for a reason.

Yeah living on one in the middle of the sweet spot for climate in the Pacific is a lot different than living on one a couple hundred miles off the coast of Siberia.

Dunno, I'm so hungry right now I might die before I get home to eat dinner.

Luckily, I got a pistol with me, so I can eat a bullet if it gets real bad

Can my island be Australia?

I bet I can live for a while there.

I'm a dialysis patient so maybe a week...maybe more since I'd be starving on a deserted island and not taking any fluid or food in.

Depending on what the parameters are on what I have with me.

I bring a backpack with enough stuff that I could make it 2 days before needing resupplied/ getting home.

I can barely survive in my house with my wife cooking most my meals and taking care of almost everything.

"You wash up on a deserted island. There's a box on the beach. What is in the box?"

I'd have a t-shirt, boxers, and a rocks glass with about half of a Fitzgerald left in it.
