Well, that's all well and good, but I have a theory on how they might actually work... A high-energy field is emitted at a specific length and almost infinite thinness. As it "cuts" and melts things, that's energy being transferred from the field to the object, manifest as heat. Also, the field acts to push apart the object being cut or melted, forcing the blade through. If it's small enough, it could potentially fission atoms, releasing more heat energy in the process. And the glow? Energy being transfered to certain elements in the air, forcing it into higher quantum states, and making it incandesce. |

i think he leared 'imortality' (mentioned at the end of EP III) where light jedi who learn the abilty becomes one w./ the force and thier physical bodies vanish vs. the regular cut and die i bet mace windu survived--i did not see a body and as he was thrown out the window, he had a good chance of landing safely on a moving car in mid air lightsabers: BAN EM!!!!
