There are much better ones out there.  One thing to think about - I wish I had - are the barrel grooves deep enough that you can store a rifle with optics easily?

I think I can pick that up on my own, and most definatly with a second person.  plus its thin enough to easily fit through doorways.  NOT TACTICAL

Get this one instead (bigger) and then bolt it down. It will keep out amateurs and kids, which is a lot better than no safe at all.  These are MUCH better than the really cheesy cabinets with the tumbler lock.

I have the smaller one. Either one are great once you stick 2 to 3k rounds in the bottom and have them bolted down.  Someone would have a hell of a time getting mine out of my house.

I knew a guy who had trouble after time with the "low cost" lock and handle lever parts.  It stripped on the lever and it was tricky to get the thing open again.  It would not take alot of abuse on the handle to locking parts.  I think you should keep them stored in a safe manner.

I eventually bought a Liberty safe about 600 lbs.  It has a heavy duty door and lock.  I sleep well while away from my home.

It's not fire resistant.  I bought the 600# model of that safe; and the fire resistant material is 5/8" sheetrock.  You might be able to remove the lining of that small safe and add some sheetrock for a bit of fire protection.

The Winchester safes are made by Cannon IIRC and come with a lifetime warranty against damage from theft and fire(for the fire resistant ones).

Bolt it to the floor.  It's better than leaning the guns in a corner of the closet.

if your collection is just starting out , it's better than no safe at all - it'll keep stupid people out.  That being said, I started with a cheapie Homak, eventually my collectiion got large enough to justify a 600 lb behemouth from American Security Products with armor plate.

That $200 safe is alot better than anything I've seen in the price range.  I've seen Homak cabinets for close to that price.

My advice is to get that one now and a bigger/heavier/better one when $$ allows.

Absolute +1. Most crack head burglars will not be able to get that out of your house if installed properly.

Home Depot has the same model for about the same price, for those who won't deal with Wallys.

A few yars ago my dad bought a gun safe, I have no idea what the brand is but the fucker wieghed 800lbs. My dad told me "if some robber can get this out of the house, he can have it," it took my dad (big guy) and 6 friends of his to move it.

I have that safe and it is bolted down and to two walls in a corner. If you get it make sure to install it so that the door opens from a corner so that nothing can be inserted into it to pry or bend open the door.

I have been happy with mine so far, I couldn't afford a larger safe when I got this one and it will do until I can.

One thing I think is not stressed enough is to make sure to take down all serial numbers and store them somewhere with pictures of your guns.

Too small.  You'll out grow that WAY too fast.

I have that one.  It is hard to fit rifles with optics or carry handles in.  I have to put them in the corners or take off the optics which sucks.
