how does this compare to the SIG compact 45?
IMI Baby Eagle Compact? (45)
1911 Variant? (45)
any others?

H&K only tests their pistols to 20,000 rnds
SIG goes to 70,000 i think
anything else?

I can absolutely gaurantee you that HK pistols will last for far more than 20,000 rounds.

As for the 1911, a good Kimber or SA should last longer than you will on God's green Earth.  One particular deputy sherriff I know carries a Kimber and that 20 year old beauty fires the way it did when it was new.  I don't know much about the Baby Eagle - hell I didn't even know that IMI made a compact .45!! Shows what I know about that particular weapon.

Jewbroni-

To the best of my knowledge, Kimber has been making 1911's since about 95 or 96.  That adds up to 5 or 6 years, not 20.
