Raw sewage issues were found at Miyako Sushi in Sunny Isles Beach and Hong Kong Cafe on Bird Road. Roach issues were found at Village Chinese near Zoo Miami and China Garden in Homestead. Below is a list of places and some of their violations. All the places mentioned were allowed to reopen following an ordered cleanup and re-inspection. ***Miyako Sushi 18090 Collins Ave. Sunny Isles Beach Ordered shut May 2 26 violations found "Sewage/wastewater backing up through floor drains. Observed raw sewage backing up at the floor drain around food prep area (sushi bar)." "Objectionable odor in establishment. Around sushi bar." "Accumulation of black/green mold-like substance inside the ice bin." "Dish machine chlorine sanitizer not at proper minimum strength. Discontinue use of dishmachine for sanitizing and set up manual sanitization until dish machine is repaired and sanitizing properly." ***Hong Kong Cafe 6757 Bird Road Miami Ordered shut May 5 36 violations found "Sewage/wastewater backing up through floor drains. Observed water with a strong smell and debris coming from floor drain in cook line area when hand sink and 3 compartment sink are in use." "Objectionable odor in establishment. Strong sewage smell comes out of floor drain when hand sink and 3 compartment sink is in use." "Interior of microwave soiled with encrusted food debris." "Interior of oven has heavy accumulation of black substance/grease/food debris." "Food stored in holding unit not covered. Containers of cooked chicken and cooked pork and cooked rice found in walking cooler." "Certified Food Manager or person in charge lacks knowledge of food borne illnesses and symptoms of illness that would prevent an employee from working with food, clean equipment and utensils, and single-service items." "No proof of required state approved employee training provided for any employees." "Ready-to-eat, potentially hazardous (time/temperature control for safety) food prepared onsite and held more than 24 hours not properly date marked. Containers of cooked pork ribs and cooked rice and cooked chicken from previous day according to operator." "Slicer blade guard soiled with old food debris." "Soil residue in food storage containers." ***Village Chinese Restaurant 13775 SW 152nd St. Southwest Miami-Dade Inspection based on complaint Ordered shut May 3 24 violations found "Dead roaches on premises. Approximately 23 dead roaches observed underneath the same 3 door reach in cooler located in the kitchen on the floor. Approximately 3 dead roaches in the ladies room." "Roach activity present as evidenced by approximately 33 live roaches found crawling on the floor and wall underneath 3 door stand up reach in cooler, and also crawling on the wall behind the same 3 door reach in cooler in the kitchen. This unit is located in a food prep area. Also observed approximately 8 live roaches underneath the steam table, underneath a cardboard lining across from an oven." "Pesticide/insecticide labeled for household use only present in establishment." "Dead roaches on premises. Three dead roaches observed under prep table by kitchen."
