I stayed at a Holiday Inn that had a video surveillance system that you could monitor on a channel in your room and the desk clerk said the Manager could view it at his home on the internet.

I'd really like to have something like that for the front door of my home.

Does anyone have any experience with this or could you recommend a set up under $200. (too bad it wasn't a Holiday Inn Express or I'd already have the system set up)

One of the contruction projects my company is involved with has a webcam set up on site. In fact, when KU was building the latest addition to the Engineering Building, they had three cameras that were live. I think all you need is a basic webcam and a way to host the video live. It's probably not that tough.

I was just at Sams. For $20 I can get a color IR illiminated camera that plugs right into a TV. For that price that might hold me over till I find something better.
