Hello All I always liked the Wilson Combat M66 Package, but they stoped making it and even if they did I could not afford it. It was a Round Butt M66 with a oversized cylinder release. stipled backstrap, trigger job, carry bevel, bead blasted, nite sites, and chamfered cylinder. So I am looking to build my own. I would like to build my own copy. I have been doing some stipleing on a peice of scrap, I am getting the technique down.I am going to get the Kunhausen Smith and Wesson Revolver Book too. I want to use an C&S Extreme Duty rear site and the standard red ramp front. Do you think this will work? I want a more stable sight in the rear. And I can eveltually upgrade to the Extreme Duty Front and have the nite site inserts put in. Should I stiple the back strap and bevel the edges befor I send it out to be bead blasted? Or should I just do the edges, then bead blast, then stiple? How hard will the trigger job be to do? I have done a trigger job on my AK and I do precision mechanical assembly at work. I can read calipers, gauges, etc. I like the newest models best, plus the Extreme Duty Sites drop into them. Will the Kunhausen Book give me enough input to do a trigger job on a Smith with the built in trigger lock? For a carry gun should I just stone the contact surfaces on the trigger / sear or should I change the mainspring too? Should I use an extra length firing pin if I use lighter springs? How about chamfering tools? What is the best kit to get? I only need the .38/.357 one. Any input would be great. |
