I'm looking to replace my Windows Media Center with something else.
Is there a good DVD recorder that would work for me?

I dint usually record that much TV. I mainly use it to play divx moves on, but I would like to have the option to record and to copy my home moves over to DVD with ease.

I just bought me a cheap Sony combo DVD recorder/VHS unit that had plug-ins for my camcorder as well.

I bought a Sony RDR-GX330 almost two years ago.  Only cost me ~$200.  Nice unit.  Can record on DVD-R/W and DVD+R/W.  Four different recording modes, from DVD quality (2h on a dvd) all the way down to quite low quality video (8h on a DVD).  You can put 4 h on a DVD and it's about VHS quality.

It has some nice features (chasing playback during recording, editing of recorded video (on RW DVDs)).
