Just installed SuSE on my laptop. The display is, for some reason, only running in 800x600 rather than the natively-supported 1280x800. I've downloaded the linux drivers for it (ATI Mobility Radeon x1600) from ATI, but it's a .run file. When I click on it, it opens as a text file. How do I install it?

I got the drivers installed and rebooted, but it didn't fix the res problem.

You might want to add "SuSE Linux" to your thread's title, to better draw in those who might know the answer.

If the above fix did not work try after adding that line to enable/disable the 3D accelleration in sax.
Just wondering didi you try 'CREATE_FB_CONF' to 'init' (instead of 'yes' or 'no') in yast?

run this and tell me the results dpkg-reconfigure xserver-xfree86

I found a fix online, it's working so far, rebooting.

Thanks for your help anyway.

The results of your test? "command not found." The results of the fix? It works! 1280x800, running just fine.
