I have an 86' Buick Century that has a problem starting after it's been sitting overnight. It has no fuel pressure after it sits for a while. I've replaced the fuel pump relay, fuel pressure regulator and idle air control valve (for a different problem). The fuel pump is a few months old. I recently had a shop rebuild the engine. When you first turn on the ignition, you should hear the fuel pump turn on for a couple of seconds, I don't hear it. After I crank on it for a bit, the fuel pump comes on and & it fire's right up. Any idea's on what's the prob. Thanks all, Kyle |

You can guess till the cows come home!! Get a manual, GM shop manual not aftermarket T.P. IIRC, prestart pump run is TIMED to pressurize the fuel rail. Diagnosis without the prints is very difficult. May well be the computer module as it sends pump run signal both pre-start and run. Some determine engine running from oil pressure sender switch. Two pole affair. If it was replaced with wrong type or wiring "repaired" at engine rebuild........ |
