A couple of days ago my computer got infected with some type of virus. (it may or may not have been from porn sites) I have run spybot, avira, and avast.  Nothing works.  What is happening is that when I log on to the internet I get 1 or 2 websites that popup or open up on their own.  It is annoying as hell.  I am ordering a new computer on Friday and want to get rid of this before I transfer my files to the new computer.  Would a .45 Golden Saber solve this?

Yup.

If you are able to boot to Safe Mode. Go to "Start", then "Run", then type in "MSCONFIG". Go to the "Startup" tab and remove anything suspicious. Good luck.

Be careful!

I was browsing around and clicked on what I thought was You Tube

After I clicked (I am slow) I looked and saw it was "Porn Tube"  (I don't care if you don't believe me)

Anyway, my screen went blank and my computer auto restarted  TROUBLE !!!!!

I got this Trojan Huer virus that was NASTY.  My stupid anti-virus program did nothing

It somehow loaded itself into ram and if you scanned and deleted the infected file it would make a new file somewhere else

Had to reinstall the system, cost me much time and money.

The virus was in the Windows system files not my document and e-mail files

Hope this helps

Also, note that sometimes it infects your "System Restore". So it is often necessary to disable System Restore, reboot, then re-enable System Restore.

I've had much luck with both. Run either in safe mode for best results.
