It's not a cockroach. I'm thinking a click beetle. About how big is it? If it is a click beetle find a live one and flip it on it's back. It will do a pretty neat trick. |

The first one I found (which I don't have a picture of unfortunately) was probably about 3/8 to 1/2 an inch long, and the one in the picture was probably about 1/4 inch long. They were both lying on their backs when I found them but they didn't attempt to flip themselves back over. |
