Howdy, My only computers hard drive is acting screwy. No clicking sounds, but when I boot up in the AM it finds tons of errors to fix with check disk. Every day. Is there any good hard drive fixing software out there these days? |

1. Backup anything important 2. download HDD Health and run it ––> http://www.panterasoft.com/ (at bottom of page) It should help tell if your hard drive is about to shit the bed. |

Buy a new hard drive, put it in your case and clone the squirrlely one. Now. Make the clone the bootup drive and reinitialize the old one. You may be able to use the old one. Start a backup regime for your computer.
At the very least, backup anything you might want — to cd or dvd. |
| Sometimes drives get squirrely after a long time and the tracks start getting slightly misaligned with the read/write head. Impending drive failure is a very high risk though. I'd follow all the previous advice about not using the drive until you can get another drive and copy/backup/clone your information over. After that, you might want to give the old drive a run with SpinRite and see what happens. |
