The recent flooding in our area wiped out things you just wouldn't imagine. We had 9 feet of water in on section of our home, and that area housed our washer/dryer, water heater, and also our furnace Well, washer/dryer is easy fix, and the water heater wasn't too tough, even though it did tip over and pull out a bunch of the pipes. But, replacing the furnace is a bit tougher, especially since it was connected to the outdoor heatpump that is also smoked. Any ideas on the best way to get this stuff replaced? Of course, the more I can do myself, the better off I am finacially... insurance doesn't cover this. Thanks for your ideas! |

HVAC wholesale will only sell to contractors so to get a good price on the stuff you really have to know somebody in the field. Replacement of the equipment is not that hard if you can do a little; electrical, plumbing, sheetmetal work yourself. The refrigerant tubing / evacuation / refrigerant charge work is the stuff most people can't handle themselves and should be left to a pro. If you can get the equipment, buy it and set it in place yourself. Do what you can and then hire somebody the finish what you cannot. Check the internet and maybe get a good price on the equipment. Good luck. |
