I have not dealt with the H3. But we did own an H2 from 3/03 through 2/07. We live in south west New Hampshire. We could not find a comptent service department any where in New England.. For what is supposed to be to of the line truck they suck at service

That seems to be the thing with any GM product it seems like.  Go to every dealer within a 100 mile area, none want to look at it at all or if they do just make up stuff to get you out of there.  So your stuck fixing your defective vehicle yourself or paying someone to do what the dealer and warranty should do.

Or sell it for what you can get out of it before anything major fails that the warranty wont cover.

If there isn't a 1 after the H, don't even bother.

+1

I was to an outdoors show last weekend and they had H1, H2, and H3 sitting in a row ....

No comparison .....

I'm not a Hummer fan, but the H1 is one fine looking machine - wide, though ....

The other two have alot to be desired ....

IMHO/YMMV .....

Never had one or driven one, but I have heard that it's got a weak engine for the vehicle.

Yea, I believe it's the same straight-5 (yes five) that's in the Chevy Colorado P/U ....

it IS the 3.5 from the Colorado, and on a modified TrailBlazer/Colorado frame.

My best friend has one.  His only complaint is power, but he says he can live with it because he gets good mileage.  I can't tell you the number off the top of my head, but I'll seeing him this coming weekend.  He regularly pulls an enclosed trailer with two Harleys in it, so the power can't be that lacking.

He does wheel it often at Hummer's off road events, and it is less than a year old.  He upgraded from a ZR2 FWIW.

Friends 65 year old dad just got one... It is a TURD.  Cheap knockoff for an H2 which is a cheap knockoff for an H1.

Thanks for the input.   I was looing at it due to the off road capability. I need something that I can use everyday and still use it to get in and of soggy corn and bean fields during waterfowl season.

Anyone have a suggestion??? It needs to be SUV no Pickups.

i drove one around for a day...  very awkward feeling. it's way underpowered, it feels like you're leaning fowrard, and you have a massive blind spot behind you - as in i didn't feel comfortable backing up at all in that thing.

i guess the best way to describe it is that i felt like i was driving a car made for someone half my size.  i guess it may work for a 5'1" 95 pound soccer mom, but it doesn't work for me at all.

Thats just blaphemous. Wranglers shouldnt have more than 2 doors. Why DC put 4 drs on a "wrangler" when they already sell the Commander which is the same size I havent the clue. Wranglers should only come with the bare essentials. 2 doors, Manual tranny, manual transfer case, manual windows (I like hard doors and soft top combo.) and just great offroading ability and a low price (like they used to). ATTN Daimler-CHrysler, Lose the yuppie stuff on Wrangers.

BTW seconding the Toyota recommendation. Or NIssans Xterra if you are looking for a small suv with good offroad and reasonably proced.

I would encourage you to not deal with any of the American auto makers or thier subsidiaries. They are all failing and the easiest coner to cut is customer service...

Price range and number of seats needed would help.

+1 on the UZJ-100 (98+ new Toyota Land Cruiser/Lexus LX470 for the uninformed)
+1 on an FZJ 80 too

Nissan Xterras are popular too.

Also underpowered.  They got rid of the I-tech straight six and went to a minivan 3.8.

Amen, lose all whiz-bang crap. I would buy a 2006, but not a new 2007 just for that reason.

I don't drive my 92 YJ just because I enjoy peeing blood, but because of how simple and enjoyable it is.
