So, I went to the gunshow today and good god the prices have been getting ridiculous. Come on, Colt 6920s for $1600? Eotech 511s for $700? I didn't even bother bargaining. If any of you guys are dealers at the shows, you'll probably have more knowledge than the majority of these joeblows. I had a guy trying to tell me that I needed a FFL transfer to buy an upper, and another guy told me that a B-square 1pc scope mount was better than a no-name LaRue mount... BUT, with that lack of knowledge, some guy didn't know what exactly he had when I asked him the price of the windowed PMAGs at his table. He said they were probably for an airsoft and said $10/each. So i made him an offer of $180/20 and I left that table a happy man |
So you're pissed off that someone would try to take advantage of you, but you're happy you took advantage of someone else? Good God man, get a table at the next gun show, you're a natural!

Im not saying that there can not be or is not exceptions, but serious... what do you expect? And +1 to the guy who pointed out who are you to complain after ripping off the guy for those Pmags. It takes all types to make the world go round. Thank god there's still some honest people out there, even if they arent at the gun shows. |

Well, two thoughts: 1. Surfing the web is obviously the way to go these days. Always better deals online. 2. Gunshows serve the purpose of being able to finger eff the piece you're interested in. Plus, it always seems like the last few I've been to, some broad is there showing off her bolt-ons that hubby/fiancé/husband got her so eye candy is good too. Is there a better way to spend a Saturday afternoon when college football is over than at a gunshow? Maybe. Gunshows will always have their place though. Without them, the beef jerky guys would go out of business... |
LOL, you weren't at the Amarillo gunshow today were you? I was thinking the same thing. About that guy getting ripped off on the PMAGs, I'm just saying, if you're gonna sell something, at least have some knowledge about what you're selling. Especially if you're trying to pass yourself off as a decent dealer. I'm not going around looking to take advantage of people... as with everyone going to gun shows, I'm just looking for the deal I can't pass up. I made an offer and he accepted. |

I love gun shows. They are a part of Americana and I ALWAYS find something to make it worthwhile and to make me leave happy. The used stuff is what I hit first--often, with a little dickering, available at 1/4 of retail and often as useful as a new one. I just like being around "gun people" too. |
Yep, the jerky isn't bad either
