The usual suggestions are:

Buy larger than you think you will need.  Pistol grips, scopes etc take up more space then what is allocated.  A 50 gun safe can maybe handle 30 if your lucky.

Keep a working flashlight on top of the safe and change batteries on your birthday so you won't forget.  Same with changing the batteries for the keypad if you get one.  Another suggestion is keep a chem light next to the flashlight.  You never know...

Keypad/Dial.  I'd say people are 50/50.  The tinfoil hat people say get a dial and the convience people say get a keypad.

Look for a local dealer to save on the cost of delivery.  Also, you don't need an exotic finish or paining on the safe to store your guns.

Get one with a good fire rating.

Lastly, if you have the money get a TL rated safe.  They cost more but are better protected and last longer if attacked.  TL15, TL30 etc.  Basically means with the proper equipment a criminal can get in within 15 mins, 30 mins etc.  The normal Liberty, FT knox aren't TL rated.  TL-5 or thereabouts.

Post photos after you get one.

I bought a Browning Midbody Bridger

, I wanted an FN Widebody (picture on Browning's page only shows the standard

This is the Wide one in the NRA series same safe but different markings.

but they only had it in stock in Green and I wanted the Black one. Had to have it immediately! It is not large enough for my collection I may end up with that FN afterall! Internally they are the same size. But I may have to have the FN as well. It has been said that you should get two smaller models rather than one big one for ease of moving.
I got the Electronic lock for convenience but I get frustrated with it at times.
I would go with the S&G dial lock mechanical.
I installed ropelights in mine with a refrigerator switch so it comes on when the door opens and goes off when closed.
I need to get one of the smaller safes from Wally world to store my ammo in!

I wouldn't waste safe space with ammo, even a crappy safe.  Just get ammo cans and fill them up.
