Do you insure your fireams under a seperate policy or just lump it in with the renters/home owners? I just did mine through USAA $31 a month for 45 weapons totaling about $20 grand.

USAA will cover up to $2k, I think, of firearms under normal homeowners insurance.  You have to up that policy if you have more than that.

I was able to add mine as an "extra" which goes above and beyond what the standard home owners policy covers. I think they call it a rider, but don't quote me. Same as you would with expensive jewelry. It raised my payment about 125.00 a year.

Same coverage at collectinsure.com would be less than $12 per month.

They also insure my ammo stash

Is the insurance that comes with an NRA membership worth depending on?

The NRA is going to tell you to file a claim with your homeowners insurance first.

I had them on my home owners with state farm at first but the most they would cover is 5000.   I went with a personal articals policy that is $2 per $100 of value.  My guns and related accesories are covered no matter where they are and what happens to them.  the other good things are no deductable, and your home owners policy doesnt take a hit when you file a claim.  I also added my bows and my tractor.

They do but you don't have to give it to them
