I too am curious as to how that transpired. It sounds like the 17-yo girl was "friendly" with her. I had assumed it was statutory rape. I guess not entirely? |

If you read the law and the charges posted in the original thread on this you can see that there could have been 3 charges against the woman. 1) Statuatory rape, 2) rape or 3) abuse by some one in the position of trust or authority. It cannot be starutory rape as the age difference is not great enough. They did not charge her with a teacher having sex with a student. They charged her with rape. depending on the law in that area, statutory rape can be defined as 'sex with female under xx'... and means a 14 year old can be charged for having sex with a 15 year old - even consensual -as the law may not define the age the rapist needs to be.
