Me, wife and two dogs in the backseat. A motorcycle cop. I was doing 35 in a 25. No excuses, I was speeding. I told him I had a ccw and was armed. He asked what kind of gun and I told him a glock 27. Took the regular stuff but said he didn't need my ccw permit. He let me off with a verbal warning and dogs are okay.
This is the third time I've been pulled over in three years. All three times I had a positive experience and got no tickets. I believe that having a ccw and telling them I'm armed contributed to not getting a ticket, that and my white privilege. That's my CSB for the day. |

I'm not white but I enjoy the privilege all the same. Oh and I carry a 1911. |

Once got pulled over with my steelhead fishing gear in the back seat...the officer got distracted talking about fishing like a true fishing maniac would, started to leave then stopped and shook his finger at me, and proceeded on his way... ...it was kinda surreal, but I guess no one can be 100% professional 100% of the time. |
Motor cops don't let anyone off with a warning...Now thats not true. I got pulled over a month ago. I was passing and didn't pull in until after the double yellow, I was around 10 over, didn't have my seatbelt on, and for some reason I didn't have my license or proof of insurance with me. It was a state trooper on a bike, and I got let off with a $10 seatbelt ticket. He must of been having a really good day. |

I hear it also helps not to be a combative asshole. Especially if you realize you actually screwed up. Or so I have heard. Good experiences here. Well, except for LA...... This has been my experience. I am always respectful and polite. If the cop meets me half way its usually a pleasant experience. I've had a cop tell me before that the driver always decides if he gets a ticket or not. Not the police officer. |

Got stopped for expired plates a couple months back. Didn't know it, but one of the bulbs on my tail light was out also. Couldn't find my insurance card either.
In Iowa, I have no duty to inform that I'm carrying, but handed my permit over with my DL. I got a warning for everything. Cop never asked if I was carrying, and never mentioned my permit. |
