I've kind of reached my limit with firefox/waterfox and finally made the switch to chrome for daily stuff. Anyone have any recommendations on extensions/apps to help tweak it?

Never used Ghostery but wouldn't leave home without ABP. Recently moved from Ipad to Android tablet and added ABP to that as well. -J

One of the things I enjoy about chrome is that I don't really need to many extensions for it.

Other then an ad block extension and google voice, all my extensions for it are developer related (and even those are very few thanks to its good development setup).

I use ABP as well as Imagus. Imagus displays the picture in a hyperlink by hovering the mouse over the link. It's super helpful for a forum like this where ever quoted post that contains an image automatically converts the image to a hyperlink.
