Im currently using a canon 5d mark ii and a canon 90d.  I have a good selection of 7 lenses.  Looking at going mirrorless.  That being said I'm considering staying caonon.  I like wildlife and landscape photography.  I believe I can sell my current set up and get 2 lenses and one mirrorless body for the swap.  I do like having a backup and the options of having a full frame and a asp-c.  So the delima is do i wait and get the new canon r7 mark ii or get the full frame r6 mark ii

If you already have good quality ef lenses, they should work well with the mirrorless adapter. So no need to replace all the lenses right away.

Since you already have a full and crop sensor, I’d probably not downgrade to only a crop sensor camera, so I’d just go for the r6ii

Any EFS (crop sensor) lenses used to not work on a full frame.
But any EF lens will work on a crop sensor.
Bear in mind that my Canon mirrorless are the older M5 bodies, but I've found that my nice EF L lenses don't respond as fast on my mirrorless (with the Canon adapter).
I can't speak for the R series.
But I keep reading that they are not as fast to focus and shoot as Canon's EOS xxD series cameras.
It might be worth borrowing or renting to get hands on before buying.

The R6 mkII is the best selling camera on the market today from any brand.

It's a powerhouse and a work horse camera for advanced amateurs and professionals alike. I have one and love it.

You can use the EOS R adapter and use any of the older EF lenses.

But the RF lenses are in another league all together. They are sharper, faster, lighter, and usually smaller, and have overall better optics. Although they are more expensive.

What EF lenses do you have? Might be worth keeping one of two, and picking up a couple of RF lenses to go with the new camera.

The R6 mkIII probably won't be relapsed until closer to the end of the year, and it's likely going to be more expensive than the R6 mkII. They are still going for about $2,000 right now. And if you can find one on the Canon refurb site, you can save a couple hundred bucks more. Check the refurb site for refurbished lenses also.

Whatever you do, if you have the money and want the camera now, purchase it now. There's no telling what's going to happen with the tariffs in the coming months.

this is fact, I have the ef 100-400 mk2 and it is flawless with the EF/RF adaptor on my Canon R5 and R7
Look for a refurb R5, I love this camera. as long and batteries are available, I don't need to upgrade anymore
And get the RF 24-105. I have the F4 version and it never comes off the R5.

I bought a R6 mkii for a recent trip to Brooks Falls AK, and the pictures are better than I could have hoped.  It’s a great body.

Canon (annoyingly unlike Nikon) used the opportunity of a new mirror-less mount adapter to add a tray for filters as well.   As much as I love my Nikons, your best bet is to stick with Canon and adapted lenses for however many years it takes Canon to come out with lens improved enough that you feel it's worth spending money on.

Sorry, I have not been watching this thread. Let me figure out how to do photos here, and I’ll try and get a few posted.
