I drank a shitload in highschool up until I was probably 22 or so.  Didn't ever really pick it up again, but I developed a fondness for single malts a while back.  The past year or so I've been having a dram every couple days and I wouldn't consider myself an accomplished drinker or anything.

In the past hour/ hour and a half I've had 5 bud lights.  I feel like I wanna barf.  I have a buzz, but nothing spectacular and I feel so bloated it's not even funny.  Makes me wonder how in the fuck I ever drank a twelve pack (or more) in a few hours when I was much younger.

Anyone turn from drinking stud to drinking wuss?  I'm actually glad tbh - found that a case of shitty beer is now ~$20.  I'd hate to be a drunk nowadays - it'd get damn expensive.

I drank a lot of beer when I was younger but have drifted to bourbon as I've gotten older. Most of my friends my age have also drifted away from beer and into other spirits.
Don't be mistaken though as we all still enjoy a good beer but just don't drink it like water anymore.

62 here. Old age isn't for sissy's. Put on the Door's movie and pass out on the couch. It's a good drinking movie.

In college I had some nights where I'd put away an impressive number of beers.

The most I ever have is 2 beers nowadays, and usually don't even finish the second one.  It's not an intentional effort to drink less for health reasons.  If I even crack a second beer, after about 2/3, the rest goes warm and I dump it.

I think many people who drink for a while eventually gravitate to stronger booze.  In my case, it is far more pleasant to put 5 oz of bourbon through my gut than 60 oz of beer.

College age, 12-24 beers in a single sitting was not remarkable.
Now I'll rarely do more than four.  If I have more than two, I feel it the next day.
Aging: it's a mutha.

I can't tell you the last time I had a beer.  It wouldn't surprise me if a few made me sick.  Same with wine.  But honest to God, with a long enough night, a good mood, and plenty of vape juice, I can damn near kill a 750ml bottle of JD SB (and when I do my liver loves me largely - good thing I live on cleansing caffeine during the week).

I think I'm getting closer and closer to becoming effectively a non-drinker. I got shitripped last night and hadn't had a drink in a month before that. Hank was right, these hangovers hurt more than they used to.

Yep, life's too short to drink cheap booze.  If you're only having one drink there's no reason for it to be anything but top shelf.

Yeah, I haven't really noticed a huge change at 57.  If it weren't for the wife I would be down at the local watering hole chasing tail and doing a few less shots than I used to.

I will say if you feel bloated from 5 bud lights then beer probably isn't for you. I don't drink anymore, but when I did I would sometimes drink light beer instead of regular to avoid that bloated feeling. Lol

From 2007 until 2011, I got drunk almost every day.  Dried out for a few years,  and now one tall boy of malt liquor gives me a buzz, any more than that and I get belligerent.   I'll be 38 this year.

White Claw hard seltzer is what you seek

Not malt beverage and not made from sugar, but still 5% alcohol, so you can drink 12 of them and get drunk off your ass and have no hangover whatsoever

Plus only 4g carbs and 110 calories per

Available at Walmart for $14.96 for a 12 pack

43 here, drank and order of magnatude more between 18 and 25 then between 25 and now.

Up until 6 months ago I would enjoy a good craft beer now and then, maybe one a week.
Keto pretty much put that off limits and I am not a hard liquor guy so I pretty much do not drink. Think I have had 2 beers in the last 6 months (cheat days).

What really ruined drinking for me was living next door to a bar for a couple of years. Hearing drunken morons every night (along with the fights and other assorted drunken stupidity) made me not want to drink.

I think I wind up above the legal limit 1-2 times a year, thats it. Haven't been shitfaced since the gathering at my dad's house after my mom's funeral, that was almost 2 years ago.

Dunno, I guess I just don't like it anymore.

I find that a beer and a shot or two is plenty these days.  When I was younger, that would just be the pre-game warmup.   I think I just can't metabolize alcohol as well with age, which is probably a good thing, really.

36 and I can still drink the 20 somethings I work with under the table. A fifth of vodka and a dozen or more beers in a night is no challenge.

3 fingers of Kentucky Whisky in the evening is about it for me. Don't have any reason to go out anymore, usually either at work or home with the wife & kiddies.

Just don't have the time and energy to get drunk, or time to waste being hung over.

I gotta be honest, unless it's above $90 or so a bottle I can't tell a difference. I go cheap if I'm just going to get shitty on a Friday, some times I'll treat myself to something expensive if I plan on sipping.

I drink to much. Nursing school curse.

I typically drink whiskey. Evan Williams. Sometimes I'll drink Coors light, then go for a run. Study, drink whiskey etc.

I drank less when I was fishing because I had to get up so early.

Kinda the same.
If I'm drinking it I like the Buffalo Trace, but its dumb to mix that with diet coke in a cocktail so I use Evan Williams regularly.

you're right... drinking is bad for you in the long run, and it's very expensive.

First off, don't be a bitch. You're first instinct is gonna be along the lines of "I don't want to die but shit sucks anyway, drink. And the always popular life sucks dick without booze." It will not be easy, it probably won't be successful. I said I'd be honest.
