I just got a new Garmin 60csx.  The software that came with it is called Mapsource.

I can't get Mapsource to select any maps to transfer to the gps unit.  Do I need to purchase the maps?  What's going on here. This shit is not very intuitive and it's pissing me off.

You have to buy the mapping software.  It adds a lot of function to the 60csx, but they're about $100.00 or so.

You can get free maps from gpsfilesdepot.com. They are not routeable but they are nice topo maps. The site also explains how to do this without mapsource. I have a heck of a time with mapsource myself.

That's where I get mine for my Garmin Etrex Vista hCX, so I second the vote.

Also, PM Romad816.  seems like he's willing to work you through the Mapsource program.
