The get out and shoot thread is the motivation for this thread.

Go for a run, walk, hike, and or lift something heavy today. Do that every day.

The benefits are accumulative and life long if you keep it up. Some illnesses are genetic but a lot are because of poor lifestyle choices. Start making good choices. Best time to start moving was 20 years ago. Second best time is today.

Tonight's back night. Im really loving having a gym at work. I'd rather be home sleeping at midnight but it's nice lifting in an empty gym.

Legs and chest day here. Heavy squats felt good, tomorrow is always worse

Won’t I piss myself if I do that?

I got off the couch, that’s heavy lifting.

My sand bag broke and need to order a new one. I find it way more useful than dumbbells.

My dog wakes me up at daylight and makes me take him for a 2 mile walk every morning. I try not to lift anything heavier than a chain saw or firewood now days.

Did 3.25 on the treadmill tonight. Trying to get my cardio back to where it was before. Tomorrow is rowing and a treadmill Ruck.

My son's able to keep up on shorter hikes so we can do 5 miles, maybe 8 depending on the elevation.

Three disks out in my back but I've managed to rehab enough to go for daily morning walks and do body weight exercises.  Down 30 lbs looking to drop another 10.

I've been thinking about joining the gym across the street from  my neighborhood (Planet Fitness)... because it's close, and I want to be less flabby. I'm not fat, I'm in the "skinny-fat" range.

Also just pretty much just lost what I thought would be an awesome relationship with an awesome woman.

Nope, even days when I hauled 500 lobster pots in a day and moved 400lb barrels of bate around the deck all day I still made sure I made it to the gym or went for a run.

Nice, take it slow. Good job loosing the belly fat too man. It'll help.

I gotta say I sure felt it it last week after 8 miles running in armor. I normally like doing it once a month but haven't for a few months due to the snow on the trails. I don't like running on pavement with the extra weight.

3 mile hike yesterday with the added cardio of yelling at kids.

Normal lifting today then yard work.

Got semi dedicated to lifting 3x a week about 3 years ago.  Probably the best investmentI have ever made.

The taxes I pay for others to avoid them are enough heavy lifting for now.

That being said, I need to get in better shape.

In the past year I’ve lost 26 pounds and 6% body fat. I’m currently at 196 lbs, 6’0”, and 16.8%. This may not sound impressive to anyone here, and I’m not looking for applause, but after two shoulder surgeries, bicep reattachment, AC joint reconstruction and rehabbing L5/S1, I’m pretty happy with the progress.
Went from a 36” waist (tight), to a 32”  and able to carry IWB with them.
My cardio is getting better now that I am swimming.
I turn 50 this year.

Stay active. Stay healthy. Die looking good. That’s about all I can hope for in this world.

Well I’m cutting at the moment so it’s mostly light steady state cardio, but I am lifting heavy compounds twice a week. Being fit is a good thing for improving quality of life in general.

I made a ton of progress in the last 12 months.  I actually think I look better from the neck down than I ever have in my life and I'm 47.  I'm shredded, but from the neck up there's no helping me...lol.

Sunday I repped 120 dumb bells on the flat bench, 100’s for reps on incline.

At 50, I’m pretty happy with that, all things considered

Ran 1 mile before and then did our normal WOD.  Been going 3x a week for the past year.  It’s starting to show

If you guys don't have a place to run or don't like running. Jump roping is an excellent alternative. Throw in some earbuds, put on some music, and jump away.

You can burn 20 calories a minute. And it's excellent cardio.

I went for a woods hike today, maybe 4 miles. Kinda sloppy here and there; I was glad to have a hiking stick. I also learned that the messenger bags I like just don't work with carrying a handgun. I carry OWB at 3 o'clock and carry the bag over my left shoulder. Thankfully I ordered 2 new backpacks this morning, before I even left.

With my shitty body this is about as good as it'll get.

So I will respectfully decline your offer to engage in non-cheeto- consumption activities for tonight and revisit the matter when the stock market crashes on Monday.

Besides, I've got a new to me FAL to sight in and a 1911 that's whispering in my ear about something called a 99 Drill. I need to save my energy.

Even with multiple blown out herniated lumbar discs and vertabrea instability at my L3/L4 due to complete disc degen I still manage to deadlift twice a week.

When I don't lift my lower back actually hurts drastically more
