"But since 99% of what the average person knows about guns is gleaned from the big glass tit (TV), all they know is that it feels "right" to mimic the words they hear coming from their master." This quote is from a different thread but it reminded me of how true this is. This really wasn't my first day but it was my first traffic stop where I approached the car instead of my FTO. In OK we always ask for License and Insurance, but what did I say in my extreme nervous condition? "May I see your license and registration?". I got a weird look from the driver, my FTO started laughing and I quickly corrected myself. |

Once when I was 16, I got stopped by a local police officer back my old small town who was notoriously a flaming homosexual. Pulled over for throwing lit Jumping Jacks (tiny firecrackers) out of the truck window on the 4th of July. (Firecrackers of any type were illegal in MN back then) Well, the cop gets me out of the car, and I hear, "Put your hands on the car, and bend over the hood..." I'm thinking, "OH SHIT!" Got searched, and set free, but I was scared to death when I heard the gay cop saying, "Bend over the hood..." Too many people are influenced by TV in Ameica. Last night I had told a girl that I go shooting, and she's like, "What exactly can you shoot with a gun?" I told her, "In reality, I can shoot anything & everything; (Her eyes bulged out in shock) It's the fact that I'm a responsible, law abiding citizen that keeps me from being involved in 'Gun crime.' It's not the gun that's the problem, it's the person who is behind the trigger." Then she asked, what I shoot, specifically... I was honest & told her AOL CDroms and 1 Gallon water jugs were my favorites, but often times just paper targets. |

I heard a story of a couple of my more ... special friends from back in the day. They were driving around smoking some pot out of a bong at like 11pm. They were driving around a small airport near where they lived. A cop pulled them over for curfew violation. The curfew was for the city and not the county and they lived in the county. The cop turns on his lights and the passenger rolls the window which releases a huge cloud of pot smoke. He dumps the bong water out and throws the bong in the back seat. They stop and the cop comes up and asks for license and registration. The driver hands him a voter registration card and a credit card. The cop looks in the back seat and sees the bong laying out in plain view. I dont know how they got out of that one with no ticket. |
