Played in my clubs member guest invitational this weekend. It's a 2 day match play tournament with a shootout style playoff in the end. We were in the middle of the pack going into the last round (or so I thought). The other team we were playing mentioned on the last hole it came down to us to get into the playoffs. I was last to tee off on our final hole, which was a 170 yard par 3. Hit a good 5 iron. Couldn't see the hole as its an elevated green. Got up and couldn't find my ball, but was greeted with a "you fucker" from our opponents. I had just gotten my first hole in one playing with my 71 year old dad. Best experience ever. Made it to the final 4 teams but ultimately fell shot. Just thought I would share the story. Attached File Attached File |

Congrats! My first was a 5 iron from 180. Same deal, a little ridge above the bunker in front of the green. Couldn't see it bounce on the green and thought it had to be in the bunker. Second was a 9 iron from 100. Landed about 15 feet left of the pin and with my stupid ball spin ….zzzzzzzzz disappeared into the hole. Have a drink on me! |

| Thanks everyone! It looks like I can get a bag tag from both Titleist (ball - Pro V1X) and TaylorMade (iron - P790). My club is also ordering some sort of plaque. I almost hit my hole in one ball to start our shootout before my dad let me know I should probably keep it! |

The course is owned by a company that owns several courses around the area. Anytime someone gets a hole in one they charge every member a dollar to help cover the cost of drinks and such. |

You join the HIO and every time anyone in the HIO group gets one you pay $5 and get a drink (which might cost $10 normally). And the person who got the HIO actually GETS money from the fund. But it only counts on our home courses. Dumb me was playing in an away tournament with about 40 guys from the club at a nice course. I got an ace which didn't qualify for the HIO club and bought a round for the 40 guys. Lucky not all 40 came in after and some only ordered soft drinks. Only cost me $300. |
