So, my band is finishing the final touches on an EP that is going to release on vinyl. A friend of a friend helped me with the design work for the album art, and in return she only wanted a coffee shop giftcard or something. Instead I offered a custom song, and since her teenage daughter was really into our type of music (punk-adjacent pop/rock?) I wrote it for her daughter, Sydney. I just gave her some prompts and used that to write the lyrics. The Single is really just a demo I did solo with programmed drums so the rest of the band isn't even on this track, but we'll record it for our first full length when we get to that. Anyways, here you go: Won't Let You Down - Single The designer sent me a video of Syd reacting to the song and I legit teared up. Connected with someone through art is an inimitable feeling. |
