Yeah, pretty much. On the plus side, Fallout 4 is a guaranteed moneymaker. They'll have to make it. I just hope they don't try to Skyrimize it. Quoted:

Bethesda shot their wad with that crappy Oblivion MMORPG instead of focusing on single player. Yeah, pretty much. On the plus side, Fallout 4 is a guaranteed moneymaker. They'll have to make it. I just hope they don't try to Skyrimize it. That's why I don't understand waiting so long to make it.

Seems to me that they are stuck between the generation of consoles. The last one was buggy as shit on the PS3. So do they make one that is dumbed down so it can still operate on that system or do they build it for the next generation consoles only. If the latter then why rush it until the next generation console market has matured? |

You're a nameless wanderer thrown into a conflict where you play sides against each other, take side quests for days while the world burns, and you kill people and take their shit. Also, Dragons. Forget that last one. |

You haven't noticed the striking similarities between Skyrim and Fallout? |

It should be a PC, PS4 and Xbone game...the last generation consoles are just that, LAST generation. |

You haven't noticed the striking similarities between Skyrim and Fallout? It's the differences that, well, make all the difference. Fallout has a plot. It also has characters, and even has dialogue. Plus a different skills/leveling system. |

The similarities are due to a shared engine and SDK, and pretty much not much else. TES isn't remotely close, in any other way. |

Plus a different skills/leveling system. True, New Vegas had a great plot, and if you played it differently each time (alliances) you would get a different game. I also like to see a twisted, weird version of the world we live in. Skyrim never really had consequences for your actions like Fallout, just a different Jarl would be sitting in a town you visit. |

Quoted: Bethesda shot their wad with that crappy Oblivion MMORPG instead of focusing on single player. I am thinking they are taking their time to get this one right, as opposed to the good but still flawed Fallout 3 with it's engine issues left over from being Oblivion. F:NV was better, but still buggy as hell. Skyrim has been much more stable, so I am hoping they are taking that engine and giving it a full revision to work nicely with Fallout's decidedly different gameplay. |

Hopefully the load screens go away Playing on PC with an SSD means you actually miss out on stuff that's added into load screens. |

You know, I read the thread title, and I think "SDCC is going on, did they really announce it?"

Fair enough, but there are great games that are available only for us console peasants. |

I am hoping it is taking so long because they are trying to make a great product. I just got finished playing an couple of hours of Fallout 3 (for about the 5th time). There were many thing much better in Fallout New Vegas, but overall it was a reskin of Fallout 3. I am hoping with Fallout 4, they open things up more, and put out a whole new vista. |
